Speaking
to media men at the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Edo State Council at the
Conference Room, Oba Oguoola Press Centre, No 1, Sir, Chief Gabriel Igbeniodion
Road, G.R.A, Benin City, Edo State Engr. Gideon Obhakhan states that he wants
to be the next Governor of Edo State come 2024 gubernatorial election adding
that he has uncommon pedigree, character, capacity, content, credibility and
love at hearts for humanity generally.
Speaking further to the Newsmen Engr.
Obhakhan states that he came into Benin City only on the 5th July,
2023 and that he decided to hold a parley with the members of fourth estate of
the realm in order to let the Edolites to know of his intentions to run for the
office of Edo State Governorship Election come 2024. He states that he is
presently consulting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders so as to
let them know his desires of calling the shots from Dennis Osadebe Avenue,
Government House, G.R.A, Benin City come November 2024.He courageously
answered all the questions posed at him by Media Men with accuracy and
deftness. He states that since the fourth republic democracy returned that Edo
South Senatorial Zone has held sway at the Government House for 16 years, Edo
North Senatorial District has called the shots for eight years, but, that Edo
Central Senatorial Zone has been at the government house except for the few
months when Prof. Osunbor held sway there. He states that in all sincerity that
the Edo Central Senatorial Zone should be given the opportunity to produce the next
Governor of Edo State adding that he has all it takes to clinch the position of
Number One Citizen of Edo State. He added that his governance policies should
pragmatically focus on Agriculture,
Roads Infrastructure, Security, Education which will provide quality learning, Women Empowerment, ICT which will
help in creating database of the citizenry. He added that his agenda shall
be an agenda that will pragmatically transform Edo State to “Edo State” where the dividends of democracy
should be provided for all and sundry. He added that it gives him heavy joys
when he reaches out to people. He added that the only way to affect the lives
of the citizenry is when he becomes the Security Officer of Edo State by the
grace of God of Prophets and Apostles.
