Speaking
as the Labour Party National Chairman at Imperial Extra Event Centre, Iriri,
Off Airport Road, Benin City, Barr. Julius Abure heavily appreciates the
members of the fourth estate of the realm for the pragmatic roles they have consistently
rendered uncommonly in the promotion of the Edo State Labour Party activities adding
that he cannot appreciate and thank them sufficiently for their effective and
efficient reportorial styles employed in disseminating news of Labour Party to
the general public.
Speaking further to the media the National Chairman of
Labour Party Barr. Abure states that he has been in Edo State since last week
Friday, June 30th, 2023 for the purposes of thanking the party
members who overwhelming voted for the Labour Party Presidential candidate for
the Presidential Election of February 25th, 2023, His
Excellency Peter Obi adding that his “thank
you visit” has also afforded him opportunity to hold some critical meetings
with leaders of the party in Edo and he also added that a remarkable results
have been achieved as in reconciling aggrieved members owning to the fallout
from the 2023 general elections. He added that he did win his ward clearly and
loudly at the February 25th, 2023 Presidential Election and National
Assembly outing adding that his ward used to be heavily a strong hold of PDP. He
added that the electors voted for Labour Party which she emerged with 79% clear
cut victory as she won Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly.
He states that he has not endorsed any candidate for the gubernatorial election
of 2024 in Edo State adding that party delegates will be
the ones to determine who becomes the flag bearer of the Labour Party in the
governorship race of Edo 2024. He added that the standard bearer of the Labour
Party come Edo 2024 must be a candidate with pedigree, capacity, character, content, credibility et’al so that the electorate will add
their massive supports for the party as it happened at the February 25th,
2023 both presidential and national assembly elections where the electors
massively displayed love for His Excellency Obi and Datti. Accordingly Barr.
Abure states that he wishes to uncommonly thank the chairman of Edo State
Labour Party Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi for the tenacity with which he and his exco
members have religiously operated open door policies amongst members of the
party. He added that Labour Party is open to all and sundry of strata of the
society to become members adding that Labour Party is willing to shop for a
flag bearer with a dependable model for socio-infrastructural developments come
Edo gubernatorial election come 2024. He added that any money bags who thinks
that his or her pocket is deep and by so doing he or she thinks that the
leadership of the party will fall down
at his or her beck and call, that such an aspirant therefore does not
understand the internal workings of democratic settings of the Labour Party. He
added that Labour Party is ready to present a credible standard bearer for the
governorship election come Edo 2024 even if the flag bearer does not have the wherewithal
to execute electioneering campaigns adding that the good spirited Nigerians
will back up the flag bearer which will support the candidate with campaign
materials just like well-meaning Nigerians, supported His Excellency Obi during
the campaigns of the presidential election of 2023. He added that from these
moments he shall be in Abuja for two weeks and as well as be in Edo State two
weeks so that the matters of party could be well handled.
