ENCOUNTER BOTH OBASEKI, SHAIBU ARE NOT MY FRIENDS-CHIEF IMASOGIE

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline at his living room Chief Etose Dickson Imasogie states that both His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy Governor RT. Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu are not his friends adding that he is championing the reconciliation exercise of the legacy group within the Edo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with the group which Obaseki himself is leading. 

Speaking further Chief Imasogie says that if the state governor Obaseki is not willing for the reconciliation exercise to be healthy and fruitful, that he will stay at his house and watch the death of PDP in Edo State regardless of the enormous resources and all that he has positively contributed to the life of PDP. He added that PDP Edo State needs to have unification of objective purposes so that what happened on February 25th, 2023 when Presidential, Red chambers and Green chambers elections were held. He added that PDP lost out largely in the Edo South Senatorial Districts to the candidates of Labour Party (LP). 

He clearly added that the youths said the differences between Governor Obaseki and members of legacy group gave rise to the fall of PDP and APC when the elections were conducted. Chief Imasogie says that his advices are that whoever the party machinery chooses for the Edo 2024 Gubernatorial Election, that the masses should check out what the communities want. And, again, Chief Imasogie says that every political party has a method of choosing their candidates adducing that in Benue State that the Tivs have been the ones calling the shots at the government house. Chief Imasogie lamented that 1999-2007 the era of Mr. Lucky Igbinedion was a reckless regime.

He states that the party leadership went for Odion Ugbesia but, sadly, from nowhere Prof. Aigberadion Oserhiemen Osunbor Emerged. He said that at this point he took INEC and FG to court so that justices could be obtained. He said that political activities are built on population and landmarks therefore the masses are the main trust of political applications in all sincerity. 

Chief Imasogie said that the people of Edo Central Senatorial Zone do not agree with him despite that he told them the plain truths. Chief Imasogie says that if he were to be Shaibu that he will never apologize to Obaseki. He also cited what is going on presently at Ondo State amongst the Governor Akeredolu, his Deputy and the House of Assembly.
