NEWS EXTRA WE NEED TO BUILD STRONG INSTITUTIONS TO RULE OUR REPUBLIC ARIGHT---OMATSEYE

Speaking as the keynote speaker to the gathering at the 2023 ITV/RADIO Pre-Independence Anniversary Public Lecture with the topic “Nigeria @63, harnessing the potentials in the maritime sector” at Victor Uwaifo Hub, Airport Road, Opposite Vegetable Market, Benin City. The Former Director-General, NIMASA Mr. Temisan Omatseye states that we need to build strong institutions to rule our republic aright adding that there are workable laws in the republic very sadly these laws are not enforced for the benefits of all and sundry. Speaking further to the audience the keynote speaker Omatseye states that NIMASA is in charge of maritime administration and regulation in the country adding that there are heavy opportunities in the maritime sector that both the leadership and followers have not really keyed into. 

As the keynote speaker, the Former Director-General of NIMASA Omatseye did not disappoint the audience as he stated that Nigeria and Nigerians must think and act maritime at all times, but, again, he lamented that according to the former president of United States of America Mr. Barrack Obama said that Africa as a whole lacks strong institutions. He categorically and critically adduced that the only way forward to rule the republic aright is by having the political will power to build strong institutions in the country and religiously implement the rule of law to all and sundry regardless of whose Ox is gored. The veteran broadcaster Mr. Tony Obolo anchored the panelists discussion on Nigeria at 63 and the panelists are Dr. Casley Omo-Irabor Constitutional and Human Rights Lawyer, Hon. Pius Alile, President, Human Rights Defenders Association and as well as the founder Pius Alile coalition imitatives and others are Comrade Engineer Mike Osho Oshiobugie and Archbishop Oche Osadolor, human rights defenders.

And, of a truth the panelists discussion actually added more colorations to the ITV/RADIO Pre-Independence Anniversary Public Lecture. Hon John Yakubu et’al did give goodwill messages to the gathering. The host of ITV/RADIO Pre-Independence Anniversary Public Lecture Mr. Sunny Duke Okosun did appreciate all and sundry for the wonderful roles showcased. He graciously did give out awards to the keynote speaker, Obolo et’al.

The management of Victor Uwaifo Hub heavily disappointed and embarrassed the organisers as it took almost one whole hour to restore energy supply at the venue when PHCN/BDEL took her energy supply. In fact they need to refund all the monies paid to their coffers to make use of the venue since their services are not satisfactory.
