NEWS EXTRA HE RT. HON/COMRADE SHAIBU HOSTED MEMEBRS NUJ EDO STATE COUNCIL WITH CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST

Speaking to the members of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Edo State Council His Excellency RT. Hon/Comrade Philip Shaibu the Deputy Governor of Edo State at his palatial house states that his 2024 hosting of Christmas breakfast for members of NUJ, Edo State Council will be bigger than this year’s own adding that he would have occupied the Chief Dennis Osadebe Avenue, Government House G.R.A, Benin City, Edo State adding that he is not speaking as a Philip Shaibu, but, that it is the Holy Spirit of God speaking through him. 

Speaking further he states that the humble request the Leadership of NUJ Edo State Council of refurbishing the conveniences at the Oba Oguola Press Centre shall begin to receive attentions from January, 2024 whereby he would draft his builders to take care of the conveniences. 

He added that his regime would largely be responsive to the social contracts of the citizenry adding that his administration would have human face whereby low cost housing estates shall be provided for civil servants that would be retired from the civil service and as well as the journalists. He added that any journalists that have not joined the Union should make out all necessary steps to the Union of any chapels that befits he or she. 

He adding that he is quite happy with the conduct the members of NUJ Edo State Council carried themselves with uncommon carriages. He congratulated the three winners of the 2023 investigative journalism competition. He goaded others to enter for the competition next year 2024. 

The first position went to one Mr. Mike Osarogiagbon of the Nigerian Observe Newspapers who submitted series of write-ups and one of the series is that some good-for-nothing-human beings vandalized the grave a buried old man and that the police swung into action for adequate investigations. 

That through the police investigations the oafs are arrested and the remains of the old man were recovered and reburied. That the case is still being investigated mean while the oafs are been railroaded into the gulag as the investigations continue. The Investigative Journalism Award attracts a cash prize of N500,000 for first position, Oliver Iyiogba came second with a cash prize of N200,00 and Kelvin Okunzua came third with a cash prize of N 200,000. 

His Excellency RT. Hon/Comrade Shaibu is the sponsor of the NUJ Edo State Council Investigative Journalism Competition. Speaking to the audience the Chairman of NUJ, Edo State Council Comrade Festus Alenkhe states that the era of Yellow Journalism is gone and that now that the era of white and clean journalism is the in thing at the NUJ Edo State Council. 

The leadership of NUJ, Edo State Council pragmatically presented a huge Christmas card with love to His Excellency RT. Hon/Comrade Shaibu. The Christmas breakfast is lined up with assorted brands of Foods, Water and Soft Drinks et’al.
