News Extra OBJECTIVE CRITIQUING IS HEAVILY IMPORTANT TO ALL INSTITUTIONS – GOV. OBASEKI

Speaking as the Executive Governor of Edo State and as well as the Special Guest of honor at the end-of-the-year-Party of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Edo State Council of Oba Oguola Press centre No1, Sir/Chief/Dr Gabriel Igbeniodion Road, GRA, Benin-city, Edo State His Excellency Mr. Godwin Obaseki States that Objective Critiquing is heavily important to all institutions adding that he has personally accepted that Objective Criticisms have made him stronger as the Executive Governor of Edo State in the last seven years. 

Speaking further to the members of the fourth estate of the realm he States that he is quite honored by the Leadership of NUJ Edo State Council and as well as all the past Chairmen of NUJ Edo State Council that have Largely graced the NUJ end-of-the-year-party adding that he wishes all and Sunday a bountiful twenty twenty four. Speaking further he says that this would be the last end-of-the-year Party with the entire members of the media men and women adding that he decided to have a dinner with the Union in other to thank the Union very, very much for the wonderful relationships that have existed between himself and the Union in the last Seven years. He added that NUJ, Edo State council is one of the pillars that have radically and objectively contributed to the successes his administration has achieved thus far. 

He added that having NUJ members around his administration that he does not believe that his administration would have been able to achieve as much as more successes in the last seven years. He adds that he does not see Criticisms as a bad thing rather he concurs that criticisms have helped him to check the pulse of his performances therefore Critiquing is an essential parameter with which all institutions do largely need to succeed. 

He adds that there would have been a stunted democracy if not for the viral press that has assiduously and pragmatically put the search light at the powers that be. He largely did appreciate the presence of Pa Godwin Erahon, a Veteran Journalist of many decades that graced the dinner event adding that Pa Erahon did in the past challenged him positively when they both belonged All Progressives Congress (APC) and he also added that now he is in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that he and Pa Eharon are best of Manfriday. He states that Pa Eharron does not hold any grudges against anyone rather he tells the truths at all times regardless whose OX is gored. 

He says that it has been a wonderful Seven years of piloting the wheels of the Progresses of Edo State adding that they have so much reasons to raise their voices to thank the God of Prophets and Apostles for all the dividends of democracy his administration has pleasantly and uncommonly provided for the Citizenry. He says that surviving Covid 19 alone in 2020 is a great honor to praise God adding that when he came into office in 2016 that morals of Edo State was at the lowest ebb. 

He says that in February 17, 2017 that Edo State was used as a vehicle of human trafficking adding that the confidence of the Edo State has completely disappeared. He said that Edo State women were looked down because of the incessant human trafficking and illegal migration. He says that if his administration did not achieve anything for Seven years, that his administration has restored Pride to Edo State women. He categorically stated that civilization did actually begin from Edo adding that she has confidently championed creative industries nationwide. 

He says that Edo State is a Edo State, that no outsider(s) can come to influence Edo State negatively adding that the remaining eight months of his administration that he would have adequate time to hold regular media Parleys with the NUJ Edo State Council. He profusely thanks the leadership of NUJ, Edo State Council for the uncommon, effective, efficient, objective, pragmatic and assiduous media relationships that graciously existed between the State government and NUJ Edo State Council. Speaking to the crowds at the Oba Oguola Press Centre, the Chairman of NUJ, Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe States that the NUJ, Edo State Council have been largely involved in the balancing of the stories they report to the general readers. 

He says that the NUJ, Edo State Council Members have religiously balanced their story before going to bed adding that the era of yellow journalism is long forgotten, and that this is the era of white and clean Journalism. The compendium list of NUJ, Edo State Council is publicly submitted to the Executive Governor of Edo State Obaseki in full view of all and sundry. 

 The leadership of NUJ, Edo State Council presented a giant size season greetings card to His Excellency Obaseki. The Publisher and Editor-in-chief of Reliance Newspapers Deacon Rapha Ohikira and one time NUJ, Edo State Council Chairman Prayed for His Excellency Obaseki for God’s protections et’al. The NUJ entertainment team entertained the audience with their hybrid performances.
