NEWS EXTRA WE ARE EVER READY TO TRAIN, REFRAIN OUR PERSONNEL FOR EFFECTIVE CONTROL OF TRAFFIC, SAFETY AT EVENT CENTRE, PLACES OF GATHERING-OLALEKAN

Speaking to the members of the fourth estate of the realm the General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Bakare Oki Olalekan states that they are ever ready to train and retrain their personnel for effective control of traffic and safety at event centres and places of gathering adding that there is heavy need of education and awareness to seamlessly disseminate traffic rules and regulations to road users. 

Speaking further he states that all the personnel of LASTMA are human beings that they needed to be treated with love, respects and dignity adding that motoring public should always obey the traffic rules et’al. He made these submissions at Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State. 

He seamlessly assures event owners, event managers and venue owners that they at LASTMA shall pragmatically, assiduously and objectively work for the benefits of all and sundry. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, the Director-General of Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojuola states that his office is tirelessly and efficiently working hard to make sure that motorists are conscious of safety of their lives and that his office is intandem with the office of the Special Adviser on Transport to Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) adding that a special stakeholders parley on Traffic Management and Safety at Event Centres and Places Gathering. 

Speaking to the audience, the Special Adviser of Transport to the Governor of Lagos State, Sanwo Olu, Mr Sola Oni states that over 400 vehicles plies one kilometer of road in Lagos State adding that only 33 vehicles are plying other roads in the republic and he also added that traffic hold ups in Lagos State could be caused by one motorist wishing to buy something from a road seller and thereby in less than one second, a heavy snaky traffic hold ups would rear up its ugly head thereby bringing traffic to a standstill. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline, the President of Venue Owners Association of Lagos State, Adetola Akinola states that the Special Stakeholders parley on Traffic Management as well as Event Centers and places of gathering is a pragmatic engagement between LASTMA and stakeholders whereby a seamless ideas and ideals have been raised by various speakers, adding that this traffic engagement should continue because lots of stakeholders should be adequately informed of traffic rules and regulations. 

She says that this kind of engagement has to be continuous exercise. Several stakeholders contributed to the conversations of their experiences they regularly encountered from LASTMA officials. The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan concurs that all these issues raised shall be deftly and critically looked into for further ways of improving relationship with all and sundry.
